Myofascial, craniosacral & somatic bodywork training in Asheville, NC

Five days, 35 hands-on hours at French Broad River Farms just outside Asheville — myofascial release, craniosacral therapy and somatic dialogue taught as one integrated system, not three separate certifications. This is my home ground.

This class is full. The page stays up because I return to this region — see below for what is next.

What North Carolina requires

North Carolina LMBTs need 24 CE hours every two years, and a minimum of 12 must be completed in-classroom — at least half of your total, live and in person.

The Board also requires that coursework come from an NCBTMB Approved Provider. This class is 35 in-classroom hours from Approved Provider #1002447 — your full requirement, with the in-classroom minimum covered nearly three times over.

Worth knowing

North Carolina licences expire 31 December, with a 1 November priority deadline for renewal processing.

That is the whole of it — North Carolina does not mandate separate ethics or subject-specific hours the way Florida, Illinois and Texas do.

A working farm on the French Broad River, twenty minutes north of Asheville — mountain light, river sound, and the quietest room I teach in all year.

9:00am – 5:30pm each day, with an extended mid-day break for lunch and integration.

An intimate practitioner setting — not a 50-seat seminar. Hands on from day one, with individual attention through every practice session.

Getting there

Flying: Asheville Regional (AVL) is about forty minutes from the farm. Charlotte (CLT) is two hours east with far more service, and many people prefer it.

Driving: two hours from Charlotte or Knoxville, three and a half from Atlanta, four from Nashville.

Staying

  • On-site lodging and meal plans are available at the farm — the simplest option by some distance, and the one most people take.
  • Downtown Asheville is twenty-five minutes south with the widest choice.
  • Weaverville, where my practice is, sits between the two and is quieter than either.

The farm on the French Broad

Two hundred acres on the river, twenty minutes north of Asheville — and in November, the reason people come early and stay late.

What you’ll learn

  • Myofascial techniques that sense subtle release and expansion in tissue — creating breadth and depth of sensation that help your clients connect and feel their bodies more
  • Craniosacral skills — from palpating the cranial rhythm to full-session sequencing — where physical touch activates deep states of nervous system calibration
  • Somatic dialogue: reading non-verbal cues, inviting client participation, and holding emotional release with ethics, safety, and trauma-informed presence
  • A cohesive framework that recognizes the body as a totality rather than fragmented systems

Who it’s for

Licensed massage therapists, bodyworkers and manual therapists who already have hands-on experience and want the three modalities as one system rather than three separate trainings.

Previous hands-on bodywork experience is highly recommended — the class is paced at an intermediate level.

The five days

Day 1 — Unveiling the fascial matrix. Myofascial anatomy, adhesions and tensegrity, mechanoreceptors and their somatic implications, and palpation practice.

Day 2 — Myofascial release techniques. Working restriction at depth, and the touch sensitivity that finds it.

Day 3 — Craniosacral therapy fundamentals. Palpating the cranial rhythm through to full-session sequencing.

Day 4 — Craniosacral therapy techniques. Where physical touch activates deep states of nervous system calibration.

Day 5 — Somatic dialogue and emotional release. Reading non-verbal cues, inviting client participation, and holding what surfaces with ethics, safety and trauma-informed presence.

“Daniel did a great job at guiding us through the process of both learning the material and receiving the work itself. I felt safe throughout the training and able to ask questions to deepen my learning.”

Who is teaching

For nearly fifteen years I’ve been unraveling the body’s mysteries as a therapist — working with the fascia, the nervous system, and the stories they hold.

My passion ignited when I began combining the modalities I’d been taught separately, and found the doorway into deep states of somatic release. I don’t just teach anatomy or techniques; I guide you into a deeper way of being with the body.

Questions

Does this count toward my North Carolina CE requirement?
Yes. North Carolina requires 24 hours with at least 12 in-classroom, from an NCBTMB Approved Provider. This class is 35 in-classroom hours from Approved Provider #1002447 — your full requirement in one week.
Which airport should I fly into?
Asheville Regional (AVL) is closest at about forty minutes. Charlotte (CLT) is two hours away with many more flights.
What are the prerequisites? Is this suitable for beginners?
Experience with bodywork or manual therapy is recommended — the class is paced at an intermediate level. Licensure to touch is required if you offer the work professionally.
I’m not a massage therapist — can I still attend?
If you’re in an adjacent, non-touch healthcare profession, get in touch. The conversation before enrolment is where we work out whether the room is right for you.
How are hands-on practices managed?
As with any hands-on modality, you’ll work in small groups or with partners — touching and being touched — with professional boundaries held throughout.
What does it cost?
Current tuition, upcoming dates and the full syllabus are all on the training details page. Every seat goes through a conversation first — it is how I make sure the room is right for you and you are right for the room.

Not this date, or not this city?

I teach this training around the country through the year. You can see every upcoming date, read the full class syllabus, and watch a free introductory video — and I will let you know when something lands near you.
